Less disruption around solar-covered roof areas
Panels handled carefully
We plan removal, protected storage and refitting around the roof programme.
Fixings reset correctly
Brackets are considered alongside the renewed covering and water paths.
Access included if needed
We can provide scaffold platforms for both panel and roofing stages.
Clear the roof without losing the existing array
Roof repairs and re-roofing can be difficult when an existing solar array sits above the affected covering. We remove and refit solar panels so the roof beneath can be reached properly. The sequence begins by coordinating electrical isolation, after which we carefully remove the panels and roof-side components within our remit. Equipment must be protected while the covering is stripped, repaired or replaced. Once the roof is ready, we set out the brackets and panels again, checking their positions against the renewed covering and its weatherproof details.

One programme for access, roofing and panels
Planning each stage together avoids leaving the roofer waiting for panels to move or the solar team returning before the covering is ready. We can arrange scaffold access, carry out the required roof work and reinstate the panels and brackets in a controlled order. Appropriately MCS-accredited electricians handle isolation and the required electrical reconnections, while we remain responsible for our roof-level work. In Exeter, we provide a free quote based on the array, roof condition, access and the roofing task underneath it.
Frequently asked questions
Who isolates and reconnects the solar panel system?
We coordinate those stages with appropriately MCS-accredited electricians. They complete the required electrical isolation and reconnection, while we handle the panels, brackets and roofing tasks at roof level.
Where are panels kept while roof work is completed?
The storage approach depends on the property, array and project duration. We agree on a suitable protected arrangement before removal so the panels remain out of the work area until the renewed roof is ready.
Can panels be refitted in exactly the same positions?
Often the existing layout can be reinstated, but the renewed covering and fixing points must be assessed first. We set out the brackets carefully and discuss any necessary adjustment before the array goes back.
